• Diploma Requirement: Candidates must possess a 3-year Polytechnic Diploma from a state or central government-recognized institute in any of the following streams:
  • Electronics & Communication
  • Electronics & Telecommunication
  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Electrical & Electronics
• Minimum Marks: General/OBC/EWS candidates must have at least 50% aggregate marks in their diploma. For SC/ST candidates, the minimum requirement is 45%.
• Nationality: The applicant must be an Indian citizen.

Bihar Police BPSSC ASI (Technical) | Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The recruitment process consists of three major stages:

1. Preliminary Written Exam,
2. Main Written Exam,
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET),
4. Document Verification
5. Medical Examination

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination

• Total Marks: 100 Marks (100 Multiple Choice Questions)
• Duration: 2 Hours
• Syllabus Distribution: The Main exam consists of two papers:
  1. 40 Questions: General Knowledge & Current Affairs
  2. 60 Questions: Technical questions based on your chosen Diploma stream (Electronics & Communication / Telecommunication / IT / Electrical & Electronics).
• Qualifying Marks: Minimum 30% marks are required to qualify for the Mains.

Stage 2: Main Examination

1. Paper-I (General Language Knowledge): 100 Marks (50 Marks Hindi & 50 Marks English). This is qualifying in nature (minimum 30% required) and marks will not be added to the final merit. Duration: 1.5 Hours.
2. Paper-II (Technical Subject): 100 Objective Questions worth 100 marks based on the chosen technical diploma stream. Duration: 3 Hours. Final merit will be built entirely on Paper-II scores.

Note on Negative Marking: For both the Prelims and Mains, a negative marking of 0.2 marks will be applied for every incorrect answer.

Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

This stage is qualifying in nature and includes:

• Running: 1.6 km in 7 minutes for males; 1 km in 7 minutes for females.
• High Jump: Minimum 3 Feet 6 Inches (Males) / 2 Feet 6 Inches (Females).
• Long Jump: Minimum 10 Feet (Males) / 7 Feet (Females).
• Shot Put: 16-pound ball to 14 feet (Males) / 12-pound ball to 8 feet (Females).
